Privacy policy

1. What we collect

For a guide request, we collect the name and delivery email you enter; confirmed destinations; your current location if supplied; and the housing, budget, timing, routine, work-address, and research-priority details you provide. We also keep the research focus built from your selections, the request, quote, payment status, research evidence, review history, final report, and delivery or access events needed to provide and support the order.

Stripe processes your card details. We receive payment identifiers and status, not your full card number. We also receive basic device, browser, IP address, and site-use information needed for operation, security, and performance monitoring.

2. How we use it

We use your request to confirm the place and scope, assess relevant sources, produce and review the guide, calculate a quote, process payment or refund, send delivery messages, and resolve support issues. We retain evidence behind consequential claims and calculations so the report can be checked or corrected.

Some Guide workflows use an OpenAI model to help draft and check prose. When they do, we send only the move details and concise verified findings needed for that work, not copied source pages, your name, delivery email, or payment details. A current location or work address you provide may be included when it is needed for the research.

3. Service providers and sharing

We use Supabase for private data and authentication storage, Vercel for hosting, Stripe for payments, Resend for transactional email, OpenAI for assisted drafting and evidence review, and Mapbox for route estimates when a commute scenario is part of the research. Official data publishers and relevant facility operators supply research facts. Providers receive only the information needed for their function.

Personal Move Guides contain no paid placements. We do not sell your guide intake or send it to agents or local provider advertisers. The current guide experience does not load the former Meta, Google Ads, or Reddit advertising pixels. Standard site hosting and essential service logs may still record technical access information.

We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the service and its users. A business transfer may include data subject to applicable protections.

4. Retention and former accounts

Purchase drafts can be reopened for seven days, requests awaiting research review for 30 days, and delivered PDFs accessed for 90 days unless a post-delivery refund ends hosted access. Those are access windows, not automatic deletion dates. We retain order, payment, research, and review records as needed for fulfillment, corrections, disputes, security, and legal obligations.

Earlier LBYM accounts, saved research, and provider-connection records may still exist while we wind down the former service. New provider connections and advertising placements are no longer offered. A provider you previously chose to contact may retain information you gave them under its own practices; LBYM cannot recall a prior disclosure.

5. Your choices and security

You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete information we hold about you, subject to records we must retain. Email hello@lookbeforeyoumove.com with the request. We may verify your identity before providing private records. Guest guide orders are separate from older account data.

We use access controls, private storage, and encryption in transit. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. LBYM is intended for adults; we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

6. California privacy rights

California residents may request access, correction, deletion, or information about the use of their personal information, and may opt out of sale or sharing where applicable. We do not sell Personal Move Guide intake data or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising in the current guide flow. We honor Global Privacy Control as an opt-out signal for any applicable advertising measurement. Send requests to hello@lookbeforeyoumove.com; exercising privacy rights will not change the price or quality of your guide.
